Fresh from yesterday’s training (and something that surprised me)

Hey Reader,

I just wrapped up a 3-hour training with the Washington Mental Health Counselors Association yesterday, and I wanted to share something that really struck me.

What stood out wasn’t just the number of people who showed up, it was the questions. Many therapists expressed concern: “My clients are bringing this up now, and I don’t know what to say.”

Not “I might encounter this someday.” Not “This is interesting hypothetically.” But: “My client mentioned using psilocybin last session, and I froze.”

Clients are already having these experiences, and they’re looking to you to help them make sense of it all. Recognizing this can make you feel valued and essential in their journey.

If you’re feeling that same uncertainty, or if you’ve had that freeze moment when a client mentions psychedelic use, my next training is coming up on March 18th with The Knowledge Tree. It offers practical, evidence-based methods: how to assess safety, navigate ethical boundaries, and use three integration techniques you can apply immediately, designed to boost your confidence.

Early bird pricing ends March 6th, so if you’ve been considering this training, seize this opportunity now to feel prepared and proactive.

Hope to see you there,

Peter
